General

I'd like to replace my hardwood floors. Should I before or after painting?
+

Many times painting comes along with other remodeling work. Generally speaking, if adding or replacing hardwood floors to your home, the process will also involve removing baseboards in order to complete. We prefer you to install your floors, then your finishings. Once everything is reinstalled, it’s the best time for us to paint!

Do you do small jobs?
+

Yes, however our minimum job cost is $1000+GST

Are you insured?
+

We have an up to date Work Safe BC account, and maintain a $5,000,000 general liability insurance policy. With safety in mind, we will do everything we can to avoid any accidents on the jobsite. However, accidents can happen. In the event of anything being broken during the process of the job, or any injuries that may occur, you don’t need to worry about losing any sleep

What We Do

What paint do you use?
+

We always recommend using the best available products suited towards your specific project. We typically work with 3 suppliers, Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams and Cloverdale Paint to find the best product for your job. Using a lower quality product may save you in the short term, but will typically end up costing more in the long run!

Do you offer a warranty?
+

All of our work is covered by an all-inclusive 3-year warranty. We stand by our work, and will come out to fix up any problem areas that you may find.

We warranty quality work. That means we require a full power wash, all the necessary prep work, and quality materials in order for us to back up the work. If any corners are cut, you may save money in the short run but we cannot guarantee that the job will last.

For more information on our warranty, feel free to contact us!

How It Works

What else do I need to do to prepare?
+

Your happiness and satisfaction is our top priority. In order to make things as efficient, convenient and straightforward as possible we have set out below a few requirements that we will need on your part before we begin your project.

In preparation of our arrival we kindly require the following:

Please ensure areas being painted are accessible and ready for painting.

For Interiors: This requires furniture being moved away from the walls and any pictures or wall hanging to be removed. (Any large items can be arranged with our team if necessary).

We ask that all interior areas and surfaces to be painted are free of any dust and any other dirt or debris prior to painting. Interior Painting can be an invasive, and we may need to occupy a lot of your space, depending on the scope of work. We understand it’s not always possible, but ask for the areas being painted to be vacant while we’re working in those areas.

For Exteriors: Please ensure all personal belongings are away from the property, and we have access to move around the property freely, with room to set up ladders and
equipment.

In order to properly achieve safe ladder positioning, we also may need to access your neighbours’ yards on some projects, and kindly request they be notified of our arrival prior to the pressure washing phase.

How do I get an estimate?
+

You can call or fill out a request for a quote online. We typically respond the same day. We can give you a rough price virtually based on information provided, but we find it’s always best to set up a time to meet in person in order to answer all of your questions, and take a closer look at the required work. This way, a detailed proposal outlining all aspects of your project, can be emailed to you!

How do I pick colours?
+

We offer a complementary colour sampling of 2 colours on all of our projects prior to painting. If any additional colours are required, we can apply those too for a small fee to cover the paint costs. If you’re having troubles selecting colours, we also work with a few amazing,  interior designers who are willing to provide you with an in home, 1 hour, colour consultation at a reasonable price!

Exterior House Painting

What type of paint should I use?
+

We are able to offer our clients a 3 year warranty on all of our projects because we supply quality paint and materials from our suppliers. We work with Benjamin Moore, Cloverdale Paint, and Sherwin Williams and use the best products available for your specific project. You may save money in the short term by using a lesser grade product, but it will cost you in the long run! Be sure to contact us if you have any questions regarding specific products for your project!

What do I do if I have plants/foliage that surrounds the outside of my home?
+

We ask that all plants and other foliage be trimmed back from the house as best as possible, before our team arrives. Sometimes we understand that this is not always possible, and this can most certainly be addressed for your unique project prior to painting!

How long does the exterior painting process take?
+

No two projects are the same! A trim painting job could take as little as 1 day, to a full repaint taking multiple weeks. We find most exterior painting jobs are completed in 5 days.

How much does an exterior paint job for my home typically cost?
+

We almost always need to see your property in person to provide you with an exact cost.

What time of year is best to paint the exterior of my house?
+

Our exterior season begins in mid April and finishes mid October. (weather permitting) There are specialty products on today’s market that can be applied in near freezing temperatures. However, If booked early enough in the year, the best time is early or late summer. Not too hot, and not too cold. The less humidity in the air the better!

How long does exterior paint need to dry before rain?
+

We could write a whole article on this question! Clearly, you want to avoid rainy conditions when taking on an exterior painting project. If you’re surprised by rainfall during your project, stop painting immediately; wait until the rain stops and your painting surface is dry. With most high quality paint, your project will be rain-resistant as long as the paint is applied at least 90 minutes before rainfall. Another big concern is humidity. If the humidity is too high, paint can dry improperly. In short, the industry standard is to paint on a surface whose temperature is more than 5 degrees above the dew point—the temperature at which water droplets begin to condense.

Interior House Painting

Does interior painting include baseboards?
+

Your Interior painting project can be as unique as you want it to be, in order to suit your needs. We provide many interior painting services for our clients. Anything from a quick refresh on your walls, to a full repaint including ceilings, walls, trims and doors. Some of our client’s do take advantage of painting their whole place all at once, as it’s more cost effective to not set up and clean up over several different phases, and provides less disturbance.

Who picks the colours for the interiors?
+

Our client’s always have the final say when choosing their colours. With that being said, we provide professional colour consultations to assist you in the colour selection process!

Can we paint over dark colours?
+

Of course! However, Depending on the final colour selection, some white’s and other accent colors are inherently less opaque and may require more than two coats of paint or a primer to achieve a satisfactory and uniform appearance. This is always discussed during both your estimate, and at our colour consultations.

What does it typically cost to paint the interior of a home?
+

We really need to discuss the full details of your project before giving an accurate price. Costs can increase and decrease depending on the details of the project. Eg. Size of project, amount of preparation, more or less than two coats of paint, working outside of regular working hours, difficult access, unique designs and feature walls. It’s always best to reach out for a quote!

Do interior painting jobs include ceilings, walls and moldings?

How often should I be re-painting the interior of my house?
+

Unlike exterior painting, where the paint is subject to exposure of the elements, interior painting varies from room to room. but when done with the proper paint and prep work, a paint job can often last from 5 to 10 years. However, the most “lived in” spaces will require more frequent paint updates. Rooms like Children’s bedrooms, high high traffic areas, or rooms with a higher humidity might need to be repainted every few years, while adult bedrooms, or areas with less traffic might last longer. Also refreshing for colour change or other esthetic reasons might cause you to re paint your interior more often!

How long should I ventilate a room after painting?
+

In today’s market, lot’s of paint carry little to no VOC’s. VOC’s or Volatile Organic Compounds are fumes that emit during the paint drying process. For the majority of our projects, rooms can be ventilated, and slept in the same day, once the paint has dried! With that being said, from time to time, oil based might be used. These primers off gas, and require more thorough ventilation. Depending on your specific situation, we always discuss using these products and alternative options before starting your project. If you have any questions or concerns, please drop us a line!

Can I live in my house while it is being painted?
+

Absolutely! We understand that interior painting can be an intrusive process, but we aim to make it as comfortable as possible for you for the entire duration of the project

Do I have to move all my furniture and everything from my walls when I get my interior walls painted?
